Dánjal
- Saturday 21:30 in Studion
Another incoming bomb from the North Atlantic stronghold. The Faroese singer and performer Dánjal has handpicked his royal musicians from the far, dark corners of Scandinavia. An instrumental overflow accompanies Dánjal in an intense musical bastard of melodic rock, folk, klezmer and balkan that could be compared to Tom Waits, Kronoskvartetten, Leonard Cohen or Brahms' Hungarian dancers.
The magazine Lira wrote: "I´m totally blown away. It´s so good that words can´t describe it. Don´t miss Dánjal!"
The man behind the group Dánjal is Faroese singer and pianist Dánjal a Neystabo. Originally Dánjal comes from a family long been involved in Faroese politics. His mother is the current minister of culture and her father was a former prime minister . Even if Dánjal does not use his voice to praise the political system, his enthusiasm for politics is obvious in his lyrics. This is primarily done to provoke and with irony to point out the narrow-minded system that exists in many places in the world today.
