Matija Solce & Sofia Högstadius

A concert with Matija Solce and Sofia Högstadius usually covers everything from hot balkan to heavy polskas – Bulgarian, Rumanian, Hungarian, Slovenian, and Nordic tunes bubble up from their extensive repertoire in an improvisational stream. This is their first time performing in Sweden, even though the duo has been playing for many years abroad. Matija is a prize-winning puppet master from Slovenia and Sofia is from Umeå, but currently lives in Bulgaria where she has specialised in Bulgarian folk music. During Umefolk, they will be playing with the percussionist Stefan Hedborg.
